This is my favorite video that I’ve ever made. It was shot during a 9 mile walk from SouthWest Brooklyn to Midtown Manhattan directly after SuperStorm Sandy hit; a dark set of days for the City that Never Sleeps. As a way to combat the negative psychology of the natural disaster, I asked people I met along the way to say their name and what made them happy. The diversity of humans and responses is a reflection of the vibrant urban environment the subjects call home. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it - I find it’s impossible to watch this video without smiling myself.
